Revolution: In The Firing Line - Christianity n Faith

1 Hear the word of the LORD, you Israelites, because the LORD has a charge to bring against you who live in the land: “There is no faithfulness, no love, no acknowledgment of God in the land. 6 my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. ”Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children. ~ Hos 4: 1,6 ~ How do we pray in tongues? 1. Devotion - True Fellowship Witnesses

" that which we have seen and heard we declare unto you, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. " 1Jn 1:3 In my devotion time and bible study, I have been hitting 1 John, yup this tiny book somewhere before Revelation and see this book in a new light. I have been having a ball with my study group doing the first chapter so far. As I sat down last night to put some of my thoughts on paper. This is the thought that came to mind: Sometimes we are so focus on spiritual things that we forget the people and sometimes we are so focus on the physical, we forget God. In the old days, the monks would take vows of silence and hide away in some desolated place in the Himalayas, substaining from any interaction with the world or people to focus on the spiritual things. Thinking this will get them to a new level of holiness, but here John expresses that true fellowship needs to include both God and the people...

Devotion - Anyone want a genie?

6So Jesus went with them. He was not far from the house when the centurion sent friends to say to him: "Lord, don't trouble yourself, for I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. 7That is why I did not even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed. 8For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and that one, 'Come,' and he comes. I say to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it." - Luke 7:6-8 - Driving in today, there was an advertisement for house-cleaning service with a genie doing his magic and bang! The house is clean. Then it had me thinking. I was wondering what happened to Aladdin after he won the princess. Had he have turn into a big, over-sized, spoil brat who gets everything he wanted, exchange that magic carpet for a magic Jet plane and make that pet monkey of his talk? Oh I can go on with this one all day. IMHO, having a genie is th...

Devotion - Where's my security?

Psa 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully [and] wonderfully made: marvelous [are] thy works; and [that] my soul knoweth right well.   This has to be one of my favourite verses in Scripture.  The days passed has made me think about my little journey and I must admit that I have become less and less certain about my path through this thing called life. Every step seems to be filled with holes and stumps; every turn and corner looks the same. Reminds me, when you are lost in the forest or a strange city, every turn seem to lead you back to the same place. Yes, this is before Google maps when you actually have to walk around with a paper map in your hands. It makes me ask the question, "What is the point of all this?" The work, making money, buy a big and latest car, bigger house, etc. I don't have the answers, just more questions. Everything does fade in our eyes, the value and shine disappears. People - family and friends around me are with us for a short time. But...

Type : Breakfast Establishment : REPLETE PROVIDORE Review By : Kenny Location : 302 Barkers Road, Hawthorn, VIC 3122 Phone : 03 9818 4448 Website : http://www.repleteprovidore.com/ Background: After hearing so much about this little place, stuck in the cosy area of Melbourne, we (Julia and I) finally had a chance to try this place out and it was safe to say that our trip was not wasted. Atmosphere (4 /5) : There are two half to this store. The front part of the store is a shop selling some of the goodies produced by the shop. The front of the shop also has some tables and a bench along the windows. But we seat in the back room, which was a cosy little room with a fireplace and about 6 tables. The atmosphere was very relaxed, perfect for those cold Winter days. I think there is also a back garden as well though I haven’t seen it. Taste Bits (4.5 /5) : I am giving 4.5 stars but I don’t believe in perfect food but I tell you what, this is seriously close. This place was not a state finalis...

Building a Solid Foundation by Os Hillman

TGIF Today God Is First Volume 1 "But everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand." - Matthew 7:26 There were two kinds of people in the days of Jesus. Some heard the words that Jesus spoke and were awed by His wisdom and understanding, but did nothing about what they heard. Others heard those words and acted on them. Jesus said that those who heard the words but failed to put them into practice were foolish and likened them to building a house on sand. How foolish, indeed, it would be to build a house on sand. The person who followed what Jesus taught was a person who would be sure to weather life's storms. Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock (Matthew 7:...

I'm so HOT! - I AM LOVED - [Galatians 2:19-20]

Gal 2:19 For through Law I died to Law, that I might live to God. Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ, and I live; yet no longer I, but Christ lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith toward the Son of God, the One loving me and giving Himself over on my behalf. 1.1 What is Love? How do you describe love? What is the characteristic that convinces you that love? It is the giving of yourself without the expectation or motive of receiving anything back. When we give with the expectation of receiving something in return, that is selfish by nature as we putting a demand on someone which they may or may not want. And the expectation that we place on the person, we don’t even know if they are able to provide. That isn’t love, it is doing something to get something back and I am almost guaranteed to the 98% degree that somewhere, we will be disappointed. The reason is that generally our expectations are ridiculously high, fuelled by the Hollywood and other sour...
